Now with the addition of a fully voiced cast and even more side quests to embark on, The Final Cut makes an amazing game even better.The premise of Disco Elysium is straightforward: A body has been discovered, hanged from a looming tree in the backyard of a hostel, and itвЂ™s up to you to work out how it got there over the course of the 30-hour story. And, somehow, it manages to make all of this fun and, surprisingly often, funny. Through sharply written dialogue and an expertly crafted world, it uses some unique game mechanics - such as debating against 24 different sections of your own brain - to create a story that will stay with me for a long time. It takes the age-old mechanics of tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and twists them in strange ways around a macabre tale of violence, poverty, and a society on the brink of collapse. Not only would it please us fans to finally have Gordon back for duty but it would mean we would finally get close to the fabled release of Half-Life 3.Like all good detective stories, what appears simple at first becomes so much more than that in Disco Elysium вЂ“ and here it gets so, so much weirder, too. Half-Life needs either Episode Three or my Countdown idea to happen.

Would you like to play a much anticipated game that has hours of backstory that just to bring you up to speed? No youвЂ™d rather get right into the action knowing full well whatвЂ™s on the line and the mission at hand. What we should be asking for is the continuation of Half-Life 2вЂ™s story so Half-Life 3 can actually make sense. So calm your horses on the Half-Life 3 talk. Releasing several 2 to 3 hour episodes over the course of a year or so would make Half-Life 3 a better game bothВ technicallyВ and visually.

If they start out on their new engine with these episodes, each one is going to get better and better as they themselves they better at using the new engine. Having some sort of smaller episodic content that leads up to the next numbered game may even help Valve get make Half-Life 3 even better. There can be no Half-Life 3 without finishing the story we started back in 2004. Yet, the story has to bridge the gap to Half-Life 3. I really canвЂ™t see an Episode Three happening anymore. Half-Life Countdown or something to that effect could be another episodic game that starts from the ending of Episode Two and ends a year or so before Half-Life 3вЂ™s events, which would be an accurate release schedule for the actual game.
